Tallaght Tomiki Aikido Ryu was founded in 1991 at the Belgard Community Centre.
While TTAR's founding Sensei and first Sempai are no longer active, one of it's later students, Keith McClean, has continued the legacy by opening a new Sports Aikido club, Dublin Tomiki Aikido at the same location. Some of those who started their Aiki study with Tallaght Tomiki Aikido Ryu and Greenhills Tomiki Aikido club (closed) now continue their practice at Dublin Tomiki Aikido.
