Investing in Growth

New Space and training Times from  1st May 2018

With the sucess of our Junior and Youth Classes and the great support of parents/guardians , our small dojo space can accomodate no more students and remain safe. We have, as you know, been looking at how we can grow and develop as a club for the benefit of all members. In order to facilitate growth, more space is needed, so we have met with the Community Centre Management to arrange hiring out the main sports hall.  As you are probably aware, the Community Centre is quite busy so we have to alter our training timetable to take advantage of available free slots.

Having comitted to hiring the main hall space, the club has also made a substantial investment (to the value of €7,000) to buy one hundred brand new high quality judo mats. The upshot of this is that we will be able to train on more than twice the mat space we currently have in the upstairs studio. The new mats will be located in storage near the Main Sports Hall.

We will still be hiring out and using the upstairs Studio dojo space on a limited basis, as we can't get all the necessary time we need yet in the main hall for all scheduled classes.

Our Training Timetable will change to align with current hall availbility as follows:-

TUESDAY
Juniors :     17:00- 18:00    Main Sports Hall
Youths  :     18:00 - 19:00   Main Sports Hall
Adults   :     19:30 - 21:30   Main Sports Hall

FRIDAY
Youths:    18:00 - 19:00    Main Sports Hall
Adults:     19:30 - 21:30    Main Sports Hall

SATURDAY
Juniors:    10:00 - 11:00   Studio - Upstairs

Subscription adjustment

As you can guess the cost of hiring out the main sports hall (all of it, whether used or not) is much more expensive than the smaller upstairs studio so we need to cover the additional costs. Unfortunately this means that monthly subscription have increased a little as follows:

  • Junior and Youth:  €50 per month
  • Adults : €100 per month  (Full-Time Students/Unemployed €60 per month)

These changes come into place from the 1st of May.

We realise that changing the training schedule and increasing the subs will have an significant impact on our existing members family schedules and budgets, however, it does also impact the instructors schedules and the additional costs and investment impact the club finances.

As always, the coaching team really appreciate your support and together with your help we can continue to grow and improve our great Club and Aikido family for the benefit of all members.
